Procedure text itu bisa diartiin teks yang menyediakan langkah langkah yang sistematis/runtut. Namanya juga procedure  sesuai prosedur  harus runtut.

Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, banyak sekali yang kita temui tentang procedure text misalnya pada resep makanan, instruksi pada panduan manual, cara menggunakan alat-alat elektronik dsb.

Struktur dari procedure text :
Goal/aim/purpose (tujuan)  apa tujuannya. Biasanya bagian ini berupa judul dari procedure text. Misalnya tujuannya adalah mau buat kue maka tujuannya bisa berupa to tell how to make a cake, to explain . . . ., to inform how to . . . ., the way to in making . . . ., to show the steps . . . . dan sebagainya.

Materials/ingredients  bahan atau alat yang dibutuhkan. Misalnya telur (egg), oven dan sebagainya.
Steps/procedures  menjelaskan langkah langkah yang harus dilakukan.

Ciri-ciri kebahasaan procedure text :
Menggunakan kalimat imperative  break the egg, add the flour into a bowl, mix all the ingredients together etc.

Menggunakan action verbs  break, pour, mix, blend, plug etc.
Menggunakan time order/signal words  first, second, then, next, finally etc.

Resep makanan  HOW TO MAKE VANILLA DROPS COOKIES

Ingredients:
1 ½ cups all purpose flour 2 eggs
¼ teaspoons baking powder 1 cup sugar
¼ teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:
1. Combine flour and baking powder, set aside.
2. Beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until light-coloured.
3. Stir in the flour and baking powder mixture.
4. Drop the batter by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto a greased and
floured baking sheet. Set aside in a room temperature for 6 hours.
5. Bake at 350°F for 6 minutes.
6. Remove from baking sheet to a wire rack to cool.


Panduan manual  HOW TO MAKE A PENCIL CASE

Steps :
Choose the size you want. If you want to put longer items, such as ruler, placed in your pencil case, you’ll need a longer pencil case.

Find a bag or box that suitable with your choice of size. It doesn’t have to be nice-looking, but strong and clean.

Cover the box with paper, any color.
Decorate the container. Try some or all of the following ideas :
Put some cool sticker
Decorate with your own art work with markers : draw lines : shapes, animal, people, etc.
Cut some magazine pictures and stick them on it.
Totally cover the box with wrapping paper.
Glue on shells, buttons or anything else you want to decorate the pencil case with. Add glitter if you like.
Show all your friends and be proud of your unique pencil case.


Cara menggunakan alat alat elektronik  HOW TO USE MICROWAVE OVEN

Steps :
Plug in the microwave. No need to press an ON button, the microwave is always ready to use. It is in a standby mode to save power.
Put your food in microwave bowl
Put the bowl into the microwave, close the oven door.
Press the Auto Cook Button. Choose from the option : meat, vegetable, rice, cake and microwave meal.
Press the START button. The microwave will cook the food in a matter of minuets. It will stop automatically when the food is done.
When the microwave stops, press the OPEN button and take the bowl out of the oven. Your meal is ready to serve.
